It's all about the cold + Costco!

It's really chilly around here and it has been all week!!
I actually wore a knitted hat yesterday -- that just doesn't happen.
I'm really hoping that it continues on through the weekend and possibly even until when Spring is supposed to start...you know, like how regular winter does it.
Last night we headed to Costco to pick up a couple of things for our weekend festivities
Actually, who are we kidding, you can't ever leave Costco with a couple of things; it really is inevitable though
We leisurely walked up and down every isle catching up on each other's day. It was really sweet and refreshing. The best purchase of the night? I'd say it was the two pretty little cake stands I scored for a mere $20. Daniel would object and say it was the abundant supply of sugared goods we bought.
But to each their own.
After, I was treated us to a fancy dinner of Costco pizza by the slice.
Honestly, that's the real reason we go to Costco and we aren't hesitant to admit it.
It's really nice to get away for a couple of hours and just do our thing before all the madness starts up.
I hope each of you have a great weekend! We're really looking forward to ours.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Awkward
- I am 25 and I have yet to get my wisdom teeth out. It's so painfully awkward. Literally. Ouchies
- In light of the chilly weather this week I've been understandably sporting heavier coats to keep warm. I was wearing this one in particular and a lady proceeded to walk up to me, pet my arm and say "Cold out??" This has happen before, remember?! Why do people think it is socially acceptable to pet a complete stranger? I'll forever be puzzled when it comes to this subject.
- Realizing I live in the same exact neighborhood as someone who is repeatedly rude to some of my family members but is nice to me. Hopeeeee I neverrrr run into themmmm.
- All of my pictures in this post are of food + my dog.

Awesome
- Tucker has a sweater, folks.
-My friends. Always sporting giving hearts and willing to lend very helpful hands. Love them :)
- Having stuffed burgers + champagne with friends on Valentine's Day.
- When I feel super unmotivated at night and making dinner sounds like the most strenuous thing ever {yea I get ultra dramatic too}, and my teeth hurt {see the first point in the "Awkward" section} I result to bread, dip and wine. Now that's the best quick fix!
- What I do to my dog's ears. Not sure if that's awkward or awesome but at the time it was so awesome I was practically crying from laughing so hard.
- The people at the coffee shop I frequent on my lunch breaks always compliment something that I'm either wearing or carrying that day {i.e. purse}. Thank you for not petting me, coffee friends.
- Having amazing health + dental insurance {thanks, work!} so that I can get my icky wisdom teeth out. hooray!

Happy Thursday!

Love Letter: Winston Churchill to Clementine Churchill

The weather here is finally getting it's act together; hello rain clouds, wind and chills! Although this winter weather will be short lived, I'm basking in it. Such a perfect day to get cozy and read. Lovinggggg the below love letter from Mr. Winston Churchill to his Clementine. So so sweet and very appropriate as we all come down from our self induced sugar highs from yesterday.

23 January 1935
My darling Clemmie,
… you wrote some words very dear to me, about my having enriched your life. I cannot tell you what pleasure this gave me, because I always feel so overwhelmingly in your debt, if there can be accounts in love... What it has been to me to live all these years in your heart and companionship no phrases can convey.
Time passes swiftly, but is it not joyous to see how great and growing is the treasure we have gathered together, amid the storms and stresses of so many eventful and, to millions, tragic and terrible years?…

With tender love from your devoted,
W.
Have a great day!
xx

Valentines Breakfast.

We keep our Valentine's Day celebrations focused on food at our house. I mean, the logical and fastest way to any person's heart would and should be via their stomach. We had a special breakfast this morning together and my sister Lindsey opened up her Valentine. It was sweet and Lulu started her day off with a big smile and a sugar high.

I guess you could say that pancakes and flowers in a mason jar are apart of my love language and boy do I feel loved {Thanks, man-friend!}. Can't wait to see my sister Tracy this weekend so that I can give her a hug and her Valentine. Plus she'll be here for the Valentine's Day party we're throwing. Yay!

I hope each of you have a wonderful day celebrating love and happiness with those who light up your life. Because let's be honest here, although Hallmark comes off as only marketing to couples, Valentine's Day is really about all different kinds of love in all of its different shapes and sizes. Hope you know how appreciative I am for you and your presence here. Have a beautiful day!

Weekend Deets with pictures! Go me!

My weekend was pretty boring compared to the littlest's weekend.
He spent it napping, belly up in his bed and investigating all corners of our home. And I mean all corners. Like even the embarrassing ones under my bed, crammed with stuff that I haven't managed to find a home for just yet {you know, 6 months after our move-in}. And it gets extra tricky when he maneuvers himself in a tiny space just sitting there staring at me as I'm trying to grab his little wiggly body because he isn't supposed to be there. Ya, it is loads of fun if you're curious. And I say "is" and not "was" and speaking in the present tense because this is turning into not just a once a day or weekend thing, but 10 times a day every day thing. Thankfully I'm getting smarter and when I remember shut my bedroom door during all non-sleeping hours. The best part? I find a number of mini piles of  not just chewed but strategically shredded paper. Hope it wasn't anything important....

So while Tucker was having a  ball being the master of destruction, I busied my few days off with an early breakfast outing with bottomless hot chocolate, dinner with friends {family style}, a night out listening to a friend of friend's band play, welcomed the rain clouds, date night {dinner and a movie}, lots of deep cleaning {I mean this is less than a week away! hooray!}, and {the best part} received some awesome mail from a long time sweet friend.
All in all I'd say it was a top notch weekend!!
I hope your's was as well.

Happy Weekend + Lots O' Snap Shots

Life has been a hustlin' and a bustlin'.
And it's all been documented on my trusty iPhone. ;)
This week felt like it was going on forever, so to say I'm ecstatic that it is finally Friday is an understatement.
I'll be preparing for the Valentine's celebrations that are planned all week long next week.
If you can't tell, V-day is becoming my most favorite holiday. I mean I'll jump at any chance to give people little presents to let them know I love them.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
xx

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Awkward
- The amounts of laundry that pile up throughout the week is astonishing and sometimes overwhelming. Jackson likes to roll around in the piles and Tucker takes off at lightening speed with socks in his mouth.
- Car problems. Because they always tend to happen, oh I dunno, in the middle of an inner section or at a stop sign.
- Office conversations with colleagues. I need to remember not everyone laughs at the same things I do.

Awesome
- I've always loved weekend coffee outings with friends; they're a favorite of mine. But you know what's even better? A coffee date with one of the best friends around town before work in the middle of the week. Yep, at 6:30am. Totally worth the early morning wake-up.
- Tucker went to the vet and he was misdiagnosed. He is so not blind! Thanks to an awesome vet, a weeks use of magical antibiotic eye drops, lots of love and that boy is good as new. Makes for a very happy puppy mama!
- All the laughing that goes on everywhere I go. I seriously have some of the best people in my life who have refreshing and appreciated senses of humor.
- The new Valentine's Starbucks cups. I had no idea they even existed until last Saturday. Such a happy surprise.
- Me not watching the Super Bowl but using that day as an excuse to run out to grab everyone "Super Bowl treats" aka wine and candy.
- Emails from friends. A close friend of mine is getting married at the beginning of next year and I love all the little emails she sends me. Her sense of humor is amazing...I always enjoy seeing her name in my inbox :)

I love when the Awesome far outweighs the Awkward :)
